Course Policies and Rules of Play

Welcome to San Juan Oaks Golf Club, a premier “daily fee” golfing facility open to the public. We kindly ask that you adhere to our course policies to ensure an enjoyable
experience for all guests. Proper golf etiquette and respectful behavior are expected on the course and in the clubhouse at all times. Thank you for your cooperation!

Fees

All golf fees include the use of a golf cart and access to the practice facilities prior to guest’s scheduled tee time.

Checking-In

  • All players MUST check in at the Pro Shop before starting play.
  • All fees shall be paid prior to the beginning of play.

Practice Facilities

  • The practice facilities include the driving range, short game/chipping areas and putting green.
  • The practice facilities are for use by guests with tee times, prior to their round of golf.
  • For guests wishing to enjoy our practice facilities, we offer a $35 daily pass. This includes full access to the driving range, short game areas, and putting green.
  • The driving range closes early on Mondays at 3:00 PM and reopens Tuesday at 10:00 AM for maintenance.

Golf Reservations:

  • The public may make tee times 14 days in advance by calling the ProShop at 831-636-6113. Please be prepared to provide a valid phone number and email address.
  • Each guest may reserve up to two groups per day. Reservations for two to three players are expected to be paired up with other players.
  • Three or more tee-time requests will be forwarded to our Tournament Coordinator or the Director of Golf
  • A valid credit card will be required when scheduling your tee-time reservation.

Pace of Play:

  • The acceptable pace of play for 18 holes of golf at San Juan Oaks Golf Club is four hours and thirty minutes Please be aware of the group in front of you and do your best to keep up with the pace of play.

Numbers of Golfers per Group:

  • Groups of more than four guests are not allowed on the course–no exceptions. Groups of fewer than four players are to expect to be paired up with other guests.

Tee-Time Changes:

  • At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or make changes to the tee time. You can do this in person or over the phone by calling the Pro Shop at 831-636-6113 during operating hours.

Cancellation Policy

  • To cancel your tee time, please contact San Juan Oaks Golf Club at least 48 hours in advance by calling 831-636-6113. Failure to cancel or not showing up for your scheduled round(s) will result in a charge to the credit card on file.

Player Count Reduction:

  • If the person reserving the tee time fails to notify San Juan Oaks in advance about a reduction in the original player count, the credit card holder will be responsible for all applicable charges. The credit card on file will be automatically billed for all players booked under the reservation.

Golf Clubs:

  • Every player MUST have his/her own set of clubs.
  • Sharing clubs out of one bag is not permitted. Rental sets are available in the Pro Shop.

Care for the Golf Course:

  • We ask that all players be mindful of the golf course and repair ball marks on the greens, rake bunkers, replace divots and repair divots with sand and seed provided in each golf cart and on the par-three tee boxes. Thank you in advance!

Dress Code

  • Proper golf attire is required at all times on the course and in practice areas.
  • Shirts: Collared shirts are mandatory for men. Ladies may wear collared or noncollared golf tops. Tee shirts and tank tops are not permitted.
  • Bottoms: Gentlemen may wear tailored pants or shorts. Ladies may wear tailored pants, shorts, skirts or skorts.
  • Footwear: No metal spikes are allowed. Golf shoes with soft spikes or appropriate athletic shoes are required. Shoes are required at all times (no bare feet).
  • Denim is not allowed on the course or in any practice areas.

Golf Cart:

  • Golf fees include a cart. Players may choose to walk or use their own manual push carts. All other personal or private carts, motorized carts, bikes, golf boards or the like are prohibited.
  • Spectators or guests can ride along for an additional fee of $25.
  • We kindly ask that Golf Carts are returned to the Cart Barn 30 minutes before sunset.
  • To protect our golf course, the following golf cart usage rules shall apply:
  • Two carts maximum per group.
    • Golf carts are restricted to TWO occupants and their equipment.
    • Carts may operate under the 90-degree rule. weather permitting. We recommend  checking with the Pro Shop before scheduling your tee time for the latest updates. Please note that our carts are equipped with Club Car GPS technology for enhanced course management.
    • The driver of any golf cart MUST have a valid automobile driver’s license.
    • Golf carts shall be operated strictly in accordance with the printed rules.
    • All golf carts are equipped with Visage Technology (GPS). Please be aware that golf carts may slow down or stop when entering restricted areas.

No Smoking Policy:

  • To ensure the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all guests, San Juan Oaks is a
    completely smoke-free property (includes: golf course, practice areas, patios or within any of our facilities).
  • This policy is designed to address the high fire risk associated with the dry conditions
    and high winds in California as well as to maintain a pleasant environment for all our guests.
  • Guests found smoking anywhere on the property will be asked immediately to
    extinguish their cigarette, cigar, or other smoking materials. Continued violations may result in removal from the property and the loss of future playing privileges

Animal Policy:

  • Animals and pets are not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse at any time apart from service animals.
  • According to California law and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.

*Please note that staff may ask what tasks the service animal is trained to perform in order to ensure guest safety and maintain a pleasant experience. *

Outside Food & Beverage:

  • Personal coolers, glass containers and bottles are not allowed on the course at any time. Outside food and beverage items are prohibited. Golfers in violation of this policy will be asked to leave the course and potentially lose their future playing privileges.
  • San Juan Oaks is proud to offer exceptional dining options. From mid-round bites at Slices to scenic patio lunches at McCann’s, and fine dining at 36 Degrees North, our culinary team is ready to serve you.
